Dear Residents:
The Board has implemented fines for activities involving the use of the playground, the basketball court, parking and vehicle repairs that violate our rules and are outlined in the enclosed Village Handbook. This is a summary of the unwanted activities and the fines per occurrence:
|
Activity
|
Fine
|
Throwing, kicking and batting balls and other objects
on the common areas and playground: |
$ 25
|
| Non-residents using basketball court: |
$ 25
|
| Noisy and unruly parties at clubhouse: |
$100
|
| Noisy parties on patios: |
$ 25
|
Double parking, parking in fire lanes, tow-away zones
and parking in no-parking zones: |
$100
|
Major vehicle repairs (including overhauls, brake repairs, rotation of
wheels, major bodywork and other similar repairs): |
$100
|
We have had many complaints about all of these activities. Warnings have had little or no effect, with some residents and visitors blithely ignoring repeated requests to comply with the Village rules. The only allowable car repairs are minor tune-ups, change flat tires, or oil changes.
When a resident wishes to make a complaint, call Courtesy Patrol Officer Larry Fletcher, who will investigate. If he finds that the resident or visitor is not in compliance with our rules, he will advise the offender that he is recommending that the resident receive a fine. Officer Fletcher will notify Julie Mercer and the list of offenders will be reviewed and voted on at the next Board meeting. If the Board approves the fine, the resident will be notified by letter, the fine will be added to his account, and will have 30 days to pay the fine.
The other major change involves the swimming pools. All children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times. Children who are 12 years or older may have two guests accompany them and must accompany their guests at all times. Residents must accompany children who are 12 years or older and have three to six guests. No more than six guests are allowed at any time.
The Board of Directors
