11.1 Regular Garbage and Trash Service
- Garbage and trash are picked up each Tuesday and Friday.
- You pay nothing extra for this service; it is included in your maintenance assessment.
- Place all garbage and trash in plastic bags or trash cans and leave them in your trash storage bin below your air conditioner.
- Items such as old furniture and appliances, old carpet, construction debris, tree and shrub trimmings, should not be treated as regular garbage and trash. See heavy trash procedures in Section 11.3 below.
11.2 Recycling
- Glass items (green, brown, and clear), cans (aluminum, and tin) may be placed in the appropriate recycle containers located inside the wood fence on the west side of the clubhouse (near the air conditioning units). All items should be emptied and rinsed. Cans should be flattened.
- Money received from recycling is used to buy supplies for the clubhouse.
11.3 Heavy Trash
- Residents may call the assistant property manager (listed in Section 1.2) to arrange for pickup of heavy trash.
- The Village maintenance staff will pick up the heavy trash usually within a day or two after you call.
- There is a charge of $25 for most heavy trash pickups. If your trash amounts to more than approximately one fourth of a trailer load (8'x20'), the charge will be $100 per such load. The assistant property manager will bill you for this service.

11.3 Heavy Trash (continued)
- If you are having work done on your townhouse or are buying new carpet, furniture, or appliances, you are urged to arrange to have your contractor or retail store handle the necessary disposal. If that is not possible or if you are doing the work yourself, call the assistant property manager, as explained above.
- Do not place trash or items to be discarded in your carport or the adjacent common areas until the day of pickup. Store them on your patio so that our property looks good at all times.
11.4 Disposal of Hazardous Substances
- Residents must make their own arrangements for disposal of hazardous items, such as paint, insecticides, engine oil and coolant, cleaning compounds, etc. Many retailers are required to take back empty cans or used products.
- From time to time, the City of Houston announces special collection dates for hazardous materials. To inquire about this, call 713-247-8589. Also such special collections will be announced in the Village Voice.
11.5 Donations to Charitable Organizations
Many charitable organizations will pick up used furniture, appliances, clothing, etc., for the Village. You are urged to consider donating usable items to them.
